.
Marilyn has been a practicing therapist since 1985.  She received her first certification for massage therapy in 1992 as she went into full time private practice.

As the years passed and her practice grew Marilyn noted that the industry was changing.  Not only was massage becoming more widely accepted by the public, but by mainstream healthcare professionals as well.  She felt that therapists needed more training especially in the treatment of trauma and injury.  To this end, from 1997until 2008, Marilyn directed the Michigan School of Myomassology, bringing to it, over 30 years of experience as an educator, body worker and businesswoman.   She authored and implemented a new 650 hour curriculum, developing
protocols and gathered highly respected clinicians and instructors of orthopedic techniques and medical massage procedures.  The result was a multilevel institution, which included a Spa and a Therapeutic Track.

In 2002 she passed a rigorous board certification exam in Medical Massage to become only the 43rd person in the country to achieve recognition of that level of training and expertise.  Since then, she has dedicated herself to the treatment of trauma and injury with a busy private practice utilizing myofascial techniques, such as deep tissue massage and trigger point therapy as well as postural analysis and neuromuscular reeducation.  She finds that working with prescriptions from physicians as an allied healthcare practitioner to be especially gratifying.

Believing that education is key for the practicing therapist, she completed her masters degree in education in 2007 and joined Nancy Haller and Advanced Training Connections out of Washington State to provide over 500 hours of continuing education in advanced Medical/Clinical Massage training to graduate therapists to better prepare them to work with physicians and various healthcare providers.

Although these days her main focus it the TREATMENT of trauma and injury, in her two Detroit area clinics,  Marilyn continues to develop instructional materials for advanced therapeutic protocols and teaches these as well as A&P, Kinesiology, Orthopedic Assessment techniques and Manual Therapy for soft tissue injuries all over the U.S.
